I have recently moved to the States and I am trying to follow a gluten free diet. I was diagnosed last Christmas with Celiac disease. At home modified milk ingredients are thickened with whey. How does that work with modified products here? Any tips? Do you only buy products that are gluten free or are there safe brands out there? Thanks for the advice in advance.

There are many "regular" brands that are safe, but you have to look for them. Call manufacturers. I have yet to talk to a company that was not glad I called, even when their food is not acceptable. Swanson broths are wonderful for cooking. La Choy soy sauce, Rice Checks cereal... read labels and call companies!
