Chinese Meatballs with Sesame Rice

1 lb ground turkey or ground pork

6 water chestnuts, minced

2 scallions, trimmed and minced

2 Tbs. KIKKOMAN Gluten-free Soy Sauce

1 tsp. Asian (dark) roasted sesame oil

1 Tbs. vegetable oil

3 c. Gourmet HouseĀ® Rice-Thai Jasmine Rice

2 Tbs. toasted sesame seeds, for rice

1 scallion, thinly sliced for rice


Cook rice according to package directions. While rice is cooking, combine ground meat, water chestnuts, scallions, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Once combined, shape the meat mixture into small balls about 1-1 1/2 in. in diameter. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook, stirring often, until browned on all sides. Cover and cook until meatballs are no longer raw in the center, about 2 minutes more. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the cooked rice, sesame seeds and scallions. Toss well to combine. Serve the meatballs beside or over rice. (Serves: 4)
