Rice and Beef De Roma

Ingredients


1 lb ground meat


½ cup onion, chopped


¼ cup green bell pepper, diced


1 clove garlic, minced


1 tsp salt


1 tsp parsley flakes


½ tsp leaf oregano


½ tsp basil leaves


¼ tsp ground black pepper


1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce


1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes


3 cups cooked Gourmet House® White Rice or Organic White Rice


1 lb cream-style cottage cheese


1/3 cup Parmesan cheese


Directions


Preheat oven to 350°F. Brown ground beef in skillet. Drain off excess fat. Stir in onion, green pepper, and garlic. Sauté until tender. Add seasonings, tomato sauce, and tomatoes. Simmer 5 minutes to blend flavors. Into buttered 3-quart baking dish, layer the cooked rice, cottage cheese, and meat sauce. Bake uncovered at 350°F for 30-minutes. Remove and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake additional 10-minutes. (Serves: 8)
