Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium-size onion, peeled and chopped finely
1 small green bell pepper, seeds removed, chopped finely
1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
2 (6-ounce) cans water
1 Tbs. cornstarch or potato starch
1 ½ tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. black pepper
¼ tsp. cayenne (optional)
1 tsp. sugar
Directions
In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper. Once the meat is cooked through (no pink remains), add the tomato paste and 1 can of the water. Mix the starch with the remaining can of water. Stir well and add to the pan. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, to allow the flavors to blend and the sauce to thicken. Serve with gluten free Hamburger Buns.
