Cincinnati Chili

Ingredients


1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey


1 small onion, chopped


1 small green pepper, chopped


1 clove garlic, minced


1 can fire-roasted tomatoes, undrained


1 c. root beer


2 Tbs. chili powder


2 Tbs. tomato paste


2 Tbs. minced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce


2 Tbs. ground cumin


1 Herb Ox beef bouillon cube


Hot, cooked De Boles - Multi Grain Spaghetti


Directions


In a large saucepan, cook the beef, onion, green pepper and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the tomatoes, root beer, chili powder, tomato paste, chipotle peppers, cumin and bouillon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve over warm spaghetti. Garnish with tortilla chips, green onion, and shredded cheese if desired. (makes 4 servings)
